So, while y'all have been be-littling each other.....
I've been out on my cousins 24' Harris pontoon this afternoon.
Launched at Vincennes Indiana and took the Wabash north. The river is absolutely beautiful.and flows at about 5 mi per hr this time of year. We went about 22 mi. North on the river and looked at the fish eagles hanging around int he trees. It's not a sanctuary, but here's a large group of them that have settled in one specific area for some reason. Fishing must be good for them I suppose. the 60 hp. Suzuki 4 stroke pushed the pontoon with plenty of power to spare and sipped fuel at the same time. I'm Jealous. Anyhow we minorly rammed a sand bar (purposely) so his kids could get off and do some looking around for mussel shells and what-not. Shoes are required (or should be) on these sand bars due to fish hooks and broken beer bottles. Also a good break to heat ups some casserole on his coleman gas grill. after some lunch and doing some digging around with the kids, it was time to head back. It seems that pontoons were made for the river. Anyhow, a good time was had by all. And it's supposed to be hot this week, and If all goes right I'll take my barge over there next weekend. Y'all ought to do that more often. Life is too short to be bickering in here. |
