There were two questions:

1. What's funny about a serious accident?

2. If you see someone at the ramp having problems, do you offer to help,
or do you sit on your ass and laugh?

Apparently, for some here, the answer to 2 is sit on your ass and laugh.

I don't recall asking why Tom didn't try to stop the truck.


Perhaps someday Tom will have a serious accident while towing, launching
or retrieving his boat. Perhaps someday you'll hit a reef and your boat
will sink. Be sure to let us know how funny you think it is.





You REALLY oughta get a life. Must be miserable to be you.

Don't know about you, but when I am watching a very dangerous event, unless
I can do something to intervene, the first thing I do is get myself to a
position of safety, and then, as my PO daughter and SIL advise, "just be the
best witness you can be, writing down things, and remembering everything you
can". And sometimes, when you watch the human comedy yes, it is hilarious.
It is never funny to see people hurt, but it is sometimes downright
hilarious to watch them play.

What would YOU have done? What SHOULD the witnesses have done? Jumped in
the water to stop the boat? Flung themselves under the wheels of the truck
to stop it?

I have helped and rescued a few people in my time, and even they had a good
laugh after it was all safe and secure and even criticized themselves.
Imagine that, if you can.
