"W1TEF" wrote in message news ![]() Ok, not so much. http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/y...00 390657.jpg Heh - typical launch ramp escapades. Launch the boat without taking off the bow line or the tie down straps, didn't lock the emergency brake and away they go. Even funnier - they panicked, started the engine and manuevered the boat into one of the empty slips, then cut the bow line and tie downs and the whole thing sank in 25 feet of water - all while drifting under the docks and boats. I've been boating since I was 12 and I've seen just about everything there is to see at a launch ramp, but it never fails to amuse me when things like this happen. Couple years ago, could not lauch for a couple hours at Santa Cruz ramp. Couple guys with a new RIB and new Expedition launch it all. 4x4 and did not engage 4x4 and SC has an expensive launch but they never power wash the ramp and low tide the algae is slippery. They do furnish wheel chocks. The problem was the Expedition was no it's side semi floating underwater and the divers were having trouble righting the vehicle so it could be towed out. Sad but funny. Just think of phone call home. Honey, could you please come pick us up, we sank the truck and trailer. Boat did float nose down until released. |
