Citronelle man dies after tree falls on bass boat
Associated Press - June 20, 2010 12:04 PM ET CITRONELLE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a Citronelle man has died after a tree fell on the bass boat he was fishing from. Alabama Marine Police tell the Press-Register newspaper the man and his adult son were fishing on the Alabama River in northernmost Baldwin County early Saturday. Marine Police Lt. Michael Coleman says the body of 61-year-old William Hightower was pulled from the water at around 12:20 p.m. after an hours-long search. Authorities were still trying to determine whether Hightower drowned or died from the impact of the dead tree that hit the 21-foot boat. Baldwin County Coroner Stan Vinson tells the newspaper there were signs of trauma to Hightower's head. (Well, maybe it wasn't...loogy) |

You have to wonder what the odds are of a tree falling on your bass boat. Or, apparently, your head. |
