Came back in to the slip at sundown, and since our slip is on the edge of the docks with a nice view, we just sat there a while enjoying the view and water. After about 40 minutes, I see a boat headed inward to the marina... with nothing to show but the white anchor light. No red or green markers up front. I walked aft and waited. The guys are in a center console, 20+ footer, T-top, nice boat. After he's come down off plane at the no wakes and has idled up behind me, I holler,"Hey! Do you know your red and green bow markers are out?" Silence, then a "Huh?" I repeat my statement. Then comes back, "Yeah, I know. We just went out for a little while." Me: "Just wanted to make sure you know, so you can fix them!" Silence. Idiots. Another reason Canada now has MANDATORY Licensing for Boaters, and Cops on the water to enforce it. Idiots like you witnessed, are an accident waiting to happen. Thanks for the report from Canada, yellow teeth. Up early, huh Kevin. I guess your ass breath woke you up. That's three replies to the same post and one to yourself. Nice job, YT! |

Could be Loogy, could be Larry, could be flajim, et cetera. They're all from the same dung heap. ....with nothing to contribute but being a troll. Sorry, Yellow Teeth, you are right. Your on-topic posts have been so insightful. I will try to be just like you - without yellow teeth of course! |

Idiots like you witnessed, are an accident waiting to happen. It is not really a license, it is a card hat says you took a basic course. http://www.boaterexam.com I think many US states do exactly the same thing. Good thing about the lakes I tend go to, there are often enough hazards that fools don't bother you for long. -- The bigger government gets, the more it tends to rule out common sense. I'd welcome SC requiring a basic boating course. It's surprising how many boaters don't seem to know the most basic "rules of the road" when on the water. I've had a bass boat running about 60mph approach from my left and pass by within 30 feet of my bow. I was traveling down the lake doing about 30 at the time. The guys glared at me as if I'd done something wrong. I'll bet nearly half the boaters will speed up and swing out so they can pass in front of a boat that's to their right. Trouble is those idiots would pass the test. It isn't hard as 60% is common sense 101. I passed the test without reading any of the material at all. After reading the material once, I smoked it hands down. Then ook the real test all in one afternoon. Of the ones I didn't get first pass some stuff is stupid, what year was some act law? Who sponsored the law? Which of 14 different agencies of the Canadian government is for a particular law. DWI is DWI, does not mater if it is coast guard, local authorities, federal this that or the other thing. None value added questions. Another point I didn't like, is a different set of rules should be for inland and open sea. Some of the questions were for open seas, that really don't apply for a 8 mile long Wisconsin fishing lake. The one question it can't answer is the most important. Are your responsible enough? But har you on the yahoos, it is why I always do my big fishing trip in September, much fewer idiots on the lakes. -- The bigger government gets, the more it tends to rule out common sense. |
