He'll get mauled by Bush in the pressing palms and kissing babies arena.

So what. Anyone who bases votes on a handshake is an idiot anyway.

Unfortunately, it's the "swing" voters that vote this way. They make up
less than 7% of the electorate, and there's no common theme that appeals to
them. They vote for the guy they like best, many times basing their vote on
nothing more than charisma.

There are many centrist Dems and Reps who are still in flux. Not enchanted
by Dean, who they regard as shrill -- nor Bush, who talks of compassion and
acts more conservatively than anyone could imagine.

Wesley Clark will sweep this 7% and, as a result, crush Bush.

I repeat, you righties are toast.

You are right on, jps.

None of the other Dems interest me -- they're just the usual bunch of
lifelong politicians. On the other hand, I like what Clark has to say, the
direct way he says his piece, and most importantly his values parallel mine.
I've been waiting for Clark to throw his hat in the ring for several months
now, and now on the eve of his announcement, I'm excited to learn more about
him.

Maybe he does have some baggage -- who doesn't? But he certainly has to be
better than dubya!

He'll be a bloody pulp by next Spring...if he hasn't already pulled out by
then.

And no one knows more about bloody pulp than you doc.

Only we ain't talking teeth here and the guy was in the military for 30
somethin' years, was first in his class every year at West Point, Rhodes
Scholar. This isn't some freakin' piker who flew in the Champagne crew.

This is a real man and he'll be here a lot longer than next spring.

Keep up the delusion if it makes you feel better.

Wesley Clark will cause the Dean democrats to seek a third party
candidate...which would more than offset the 7% you think he might gain from
the "undecideds". Dean and Clark couldn't be more different.

Not a chance. Not even the Greens will look at anything but getting this
village idiot and his band of chickenhawks out of office.

Of course. How do you think a guy like Clinton could actually win....

Clinton is a prime example of someone who is long on charisma, and short
on character.

Once again, your dependence on kindergarten-level news is obvious.

After BOTH Clinton's and Bush's successful elections, NPR sent a reporter
wandering around a couple of college campuses, asking students why they
voted the way they did. Regarding both candidates, many young women said
they voted for the winner because "he was cute", or they liked the way his
eyebrows wrinkled when making an important point in a speech.

NOYB was making a generic statement.
