See you guys in a week or so. We are off to Blue Ridge Georgia to stay

This may not be totally OT since we are renting a boat. Try to hold
the world together until we get back.

Have fun, Greg.

Had a great time.
The house was all it was cracked up to be

Rented a 20' naugahyde wrapped pontoon boat on Carter's Lake. That was
OK but not like the estuary.

Lots of hiking in the mountains but we didn't see Gov Sanford anywhere

The deer are pretty friendly

but they do need to need to blend in.

Welcome back!

Wow... that looks like my place, but only two stories and more green. Even
the flagstone and wrap-around deck is similar!

I have to say, North Georgia is a lot like North East California, just
a little closer to sea level so they have more air in their air.
(2500-3000ft on top of the hill.)
It is still fairly cool, particularly at night. We were digging for
the blankets by morning.
The trails up there are really about as nice as anywhere we have been.
That house was backed up to the national forest and we could have
walked to the Appalachian trail from there but we went in at the
Amicalola Falls state park. There is a nice lodge and restaurant up
above the falls that is a pretty good climb from the visitor center at
the entrance. We ran into a guy who had walked down from Harpers
Ferry. It took 8 weeks. Judy asked me where his wife was and I told
her, actually hiking the trail is about as tough on your marriage as
just lying about hiking the trail.

Damn it, I tried to get everyone to believe that Georgia is a hell hole
that can barely be inhabited. See, there were a couple of posters that
caught me in some of my more outrageous lies that were from GA. And you
know what I do when that happens, I start name calling, and insulting
where they live, what they do, what they own, etc.

Georgia would be fine , if you could just evict the rednecks (that would be
Looney, Waylon etc) and send them to Florida where they belong.
It might cut Georgia's population in half, but you'd be better for it.

See, that's the kind of insulting and name calling I like!!
