Now I might even get my fair skinned wife out for a cruise. Anyway, I ordered the top from a manufacturer in Quebec who also makes the official Princecraft 'Sun Top' version. *Mine will be better, with real Sunbrella, stainless steel hardware upgrade and with the back support poles in place of rear straps. All that and about $100.00 cheaper. *I should look quite dapper with the Cadet Gray top over the blue sides and gray hull. That sounds like the real deal Similar to what my buddy and I bought for our boats from a local fabricator. $500 or so? Just a tad less after HST tax and shipping added. That sounds like a good deal. Seems good. *A US firm was charging about the same price and throwing in a cover for when the bimini is folded up. Trouble is, duties & hassels importing would offset this $45.00 extra. I talked to a local fabricator at our February boat show and he estimated he'd need $800.00-$1000.00 for his version, which was all 7/8" stainless steel tubing. That seemed a bit much for a modest open aluminum boat. I don't usually keep the top on my boat. I got one that zips up on the frame so I keep the top in a box on the dock and the frame hangs from the roof of my boathouse. It takes about 5 minutes to set it up. That keeps the canvas out of the weather and it should last forever. Most of the time we just use the umbrella. A redneck T top.http://gfretwell.com/electrical/The%20Butt%20Ugly.jpg The bimini is good when you have a boat full of people but it tends to hold the motor noise in.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Thanks for the pic, Greg. It's giving me some ideas. Is that float a 22 footer? And i couldn't really get the detail off the cover but what engine is that? |
