A while back, if you'll recall, I'd ordered one and never recieved it.
UPS
had
it 'tracked' to my porch, but I never saw it. And, I'd never had
anything
stolen
from my porch that I know of.

Anyway, bottom line is that UPS honored the claim, paid the shipper, who
then
made and shipped a brand new boat cover. I'm a happy clam again.

Funny thing about those courier companies.
My son likes to order his electronics and computer upgrades over the
internet...lately dealing with NewEgg.
If I don't get right out at the first& only door buzz, the courier guy
will
just leave the package on the front step and leave.
A bit foolhardy here, where the house is only 25 feet from the sidewalk
and
the package would be in view of anyone walking by.
It's at the point that I have to hang around the house the day a package
is
expected.

Tell him to have them sent to his office. Why should you sit around
waiting for your son's packages to arrive?

The way we're working this...
he upgrades his computer and I get what he strips out....... a modest
upgrade for me.

That's fine. He can still take delivery of the new stuff at his
office. I do that all the time.

The Corp I worked for frowned on personal shipments coming through our
receiving dept.
With about 350 local employees at that time, I can see their point.
My son works at a company with approx the same manpower........... I'd guess
their shipping/receiving dept would have the same policy.
With only 13 employees and you taking care of front counter annd
shipping/receiving, I guess you call the shots.....Big Shot!

The company I work for has over 1000 employees but only about 300 here
in the corporate office. They have no problem with that. They also
have no way to tell if it's a personal shipment or not. I get mail and
boxes all the time. If it's from Cabelas, no one cares! We don't have
a "front counter" so you must be confused.

So Don is loaded? He just said his son was working at a place that
won't let him accept personal packages.
