If you could go 15 kts for days, would that be slow? What I am asking is: Am I likely to be impatient no matter how fast a boat goes? Would your expectations of where you can go increase as your boat speed does? How many people think their power boats are too slow? With 150 horses pushing my little 18'er, the speed is plenty fast enough. |

If you are maxing out just short of 6,000 RPMs, I'd guess you would see the low 50's on a calm day? |

Soon as you get 20 hours on that motor, you can give it a try. -- Conservatives - just pretend Obama's health care legislation is another unnecessary war and you'll feel better about it. |

I was guesstimating the WOT speed of Herring's unused boat, Loogy for Brains. My Parker is three feet longer than herring's boat, is much deeper, is a deep vee and weighs at least 1000 pounds more. At WOT, the Parker runs 40 mph, but I've only run WOT a couple of times. I have no desire or need to run over the water at that speed. As for your claim about your boat, well, I doubt you have a boat and if you do, you never use it...and therefore your fuel use has to be less, eh? -- http://tinyurl.com/ykxp2ym |
