Solomons, herring...surely you are not fishing in the potomac near where
you launch, just downstream of the sewage treatment plant...

When they did the renovation of Blue Plains(70s), they had the
director on TV saying his discharge water was cleaner than the river,
then he scooped up a glass and drank it.
I know the river did get better.
If I was going out of Ft Washington I would worry more about the
septic tanks in PG county than the sewer plant.

Actually I launch upstream of the plant. But you're right, the water coming from
the plant is much cleaner than the water coming from the Susquehanna and other
rivers flowing into the bay. Fecal matter in the water keeps many of the
Chesapeake beaches closed for half the summer.

Oh, and BTW, I don't respond to Harry who is doing little more than trolling. I
put him in the same class as nincdepoop and jps - maybe down a couple notches.

But, if you condone their behavior, then help yourself.

Hey John it is like golf. You have to play wherever the ball lands.
Sometimes it is in the fairway, sometimes you have to play out of the
rough.
I don't take any of this seriously enough to get mad at anyone.
I think there are a lot of good people here who just get caught up in
the rhetoric and say insensitive things.

Yeah, but when my ball lands in a pile of wet cow ****, I play another one.

What cheap golf courses are you playing?

One of my finest drives hit a cow paddy. Lake Tahoe course and the cows got
through the fence during the night. I hit a ball in to a bad lie, and
absolutely hit out the ball perfectly. Is out about 200 years, on a slight
uphill rise, following the hill up. About 6" above the ground most of the
way. Hits an 8" high cow flop near the top of the hill. Ball does a 90
degree straight up. Up about 50'. Damn, would have been a 300 yard drive.
In the correct direction.

Talking about bad shots, are you watching the Masters today?
Tiger just 3 putted a 4 footer. Looked like something I might do. He
started out #1 by shanking a drive over to the #9 fairway.
Mickleson looks pretty good to win.

Yup, watched the whole thing yesterday. Great golf. I'm glad Mickelson won.
Hell, I had tears in my eyes too at the finish. The Koreans were definitely
putting a push on. Tiger stepped on his dong when he missed that one-footer. It
looked like he just gave up right then. That first drive of his had me
wondering. I heard the announcer say it was way left, and saw the replay of him
dropping his club, but when I saw the lie I wondered why everyone was knocking
the shot so much.

It wasn't 'til later I found out he'd gotten a good lie in the wrong fairway.

Oh well, **** happens.

I get to start swinging clubs again in about two weeks. Can't wait.

Who said anything about my ball landing on the course? Hell, I can hit a ball
off a fairway as well as Tiger can!

Did you see Mickleson today? He had a 10' putt and right as he was
hitting it a leaf landed right in the path of the ball.
Classic "rub of the green".

That putt looked great too. That scene will probably be shown several times at
every Masters in the future.

Since they were a hundred yards from the nearest tree someone
commented that a fan may have thrown the leaf. The commentator said
that would have been the best shot all day.
It was strange. I watched him line up the put then when they pulled
back and I saw the ball hop I asked myself WTF? It wasn't until the
replay that they actually saw the leaf and they had a good shot of it
flying in on another camera angle. It makes you wonder how many
cameras do they bring to a match like this. They seem to have several
on every hole,
This was strange for me. I don't think I have ever watched a whole
golf match on TV before and stranger was it was my wife who wanted to
watch it. I guess it was because she runs a country club and this was
the only thing they were talking about for a month. I bet she was
hanging around the club house today swapping observations with the pro
and the other folks who hang out there. ;-)

My observation.
What do Amy Mickleson and Elin Woods have in common
1. they are both beautiful
2. they are both blonde
3. they both wanted Tiger to get his ass handed to him by Phil

LOL! Funny, my wife wanted to watch the whole thing also. I had to waste an hour
driving down to Quantico, and she watched even while I was gone.

Who am I to complain?

Do not watch golf and do not play anymore.
