Haven't seen you out at the launch ramps here or at Deale or down at

When they did the renovation of Blue Plains(70s), they had the
director on TV saying his discharge water was cleaner than the river,
then he scooped up a glass and drank it.
I know the river did get better.
If I was going out of Ft Washington I would worry more about the
septic tanks in PG county than the sewer plant.

1. It doesn't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime...
2. The check is in the mail...
3. The water exiting the Blue Plains sewage treatment plant is so clean,
you can drink it...
4. There's no sewage pouring into the Potomac from the Blue Plains
sewage treatment plant...
5. Therefore, just downstream of the Blue Plains sewage treatment plant
is a great place to fish...
6. White man does not speaketh out of both sides of mouth...

(That last one was for you, since you are always stretching for some
sort of "moral equivalency." :) )

The reality is simple fecal coliform pollution may have a huge yuck
factor but in the grand scheme of things it is not a horrible thing if
it is not a huge amount. Nature makes it go away pretty quickly.
Things like PCBs and heavy metals are a lot more troubling because
they never go away.. They also show up in fin fish where coliforms
don't. Coliforms are mostly a concern for filter feeders like clams
and oysters particularly when they are eaten raw.

Oh, I am more than a little aware of the PCB problem. We had one hell of
a PCB problem in the St. Johns River in Jax, courtesy of the US Navy.

If his boat "healed" he wouldn't be working on it so much. ;-)

You beat me to it. I was thinking that a "self healing boat" could
be a really good thing. I'd buy one in a heart beat. :-)

If he wants to design a self-healing boat, I'd be happy to do the patent
work for a reasonable fee. LOL

Actually I launch upstream of the plant. But you're right, the water coming from
the plant is much cleaner than the water coming from the Susquehanna and other
rivers flowing into the bay. Fecal matter in the water keeps many of the
Chesapeake beaches closed for half the summer.

Oh, and BTW, I don't respond to Harry who is doing little more than trolling. I
put him in the same class as nincdepoop and jps - maybe down a couple notches.

But, if you condone their behavior, then help yourself.

Hey John it is like golf. You have to play wherever the ball lands.
Sometimes it is in the fairway, sometimes you have to play out of the
rough.
I don't take any of this seriously enough to get mad at anyone.
I think there are a lot of good people here who just get caught up in
the rhetoric and say insensitive things.

Yeah, but when my ball lands in a pile of wet cow ****, I play another one.
