Where to put a 10' porta-bote?
On my 28' sailboat, there is not a lot of room and the most likely
place would be alongside the lifelines inside the shrouds. However, that would block a lot of light going into the window and block some ventilation as well. Daughter had an interesting idea, "hang it over the side". She suggested putting tubular webbing straps around it and hanging it over the side from the toe rail. Not sure what to think of this. |

To answer your question, you should look around and see where 280' foot boats store their 100' dingies. That's just a quick decimal thing I did, but you understand. "I think we need a bigger boat." Or maybe a dingy that makes sense for the boat you have. Jim - Starting to wonder about my fellow Floridian. |

I know the river did get better. If I was going out of Ft Washington I would worry more about the septic tanks in PG county than the sewer plant. 1. It doesn't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime... 2. The check is in the mail... 3. The water exiting the Blue Plains sewage treatment plant is so clean, you can drink it... 4. There's no sewage pouring into the Potomac from the Blue Plains sewage treatment plant... 5. Therefore, just downstream of the Blue Plains sewage treatment plant is a great place to fish... 6. White man does not speaketh out of both sides of mouth... (That last one was for you, since you are always stretching for some sort of "moral equivalency." :) ) The reality is simple fecal coliform pollution may have a huge yuck factor but in the grand scheme of things it is not a horrible thing if it is not a huge amount. Nature makes it go away pretty quickly. Things like PCBs and heavy metals are a lot more troubling because they never go away.. They also show up in fin fish where coliforms don't. Coliforms are mostly a concern for filter feeders like clams and oysters particularly when they are eaten raw. Oh, I am more than a little aware of the PCB problem. We had one hell of a PCB problem in the St. Johns River in Jax, courtesy of the US Navy. -- http://tinyurl.com/ykxp2ym |

Hits an 8" high cow flop near the top of the hill. Ball does a 90 degree straight up. Up about 50'. Damn, would have been a 300 yard drive. In the correct direction. |

He had a 10' putt and right as he was hitting it a leaf landed right in the path of the ball. Classic "rub of the green". That putt looked great too. That scene will probably be shown several times at every Masters in the future. Since they were a hundred yards from the nearest tree someone commented that a fan may have thrown the leaf. The commentator said that would have been the best shot all day. It was strange. I watched him line up the put then when they pulled back and I saw the ball hop I asked myself WTF? It wasn't until the replay that they actually saw the leaf and they had a good shot of it flying in on another camera angle. It makes you wonder how many cameras do they bring to a match like this. They seem to have several on every hole, This was strange for me. I don't think I have ever watched a whole golf match on TV before and stranger was it was my wife who wanted to watch it. I guess it was because she runs a country club and this was the only thing they were talking about for a month. I bet she was hanging around the club house today swapping observations with the pro and the other folks who hang out there. ;-) My observation. What do Amy Mickleson and Elin Woods have in common 1. they are both beautiful 2. they are both blonde 3. they both wanted Tiger to get his ass handed to him by Phil LOL! Funny, my wife wanted to watch the whole thing also. I had to waste an hour driving down to Quantico, and she watched even while I was gone. Who am I to complain? |
