OK Wayne, why NOT cross the lake at night? Just curious.

I wouldn't be comfortable with doing it myself and I've crossed
several times in both directions. It would be easy to get in trouble.
There are floating hazards; the channel is not all that wide and it
curves around quite a bit; the navigation markers are widely spaced;
and there are some serious hazards to navigation as you approach the
lock at the east end.

I just view it as an unnecessary risk, especially for a first timer.
Some parts of the trip are a little spooky even in the daytime.
