Point is, Richard, that you paint yourself (and have many
believers on
the right as a result of doing so) as a non-partisan but your
stripes
shine through in the most obvious way.

Believe me when I say you have no idea what my "stripes" are.
You have a lot to say for someone who is so ignorant of facts.

I expect crickets or a punt, so don't feel the need to respond.
You
won't disappoint me. Cuz, like you, I really don't give a ****
what
you think.

Absolutely incorrect. I do care. I just don't respond well to
narrow
minded, ill tempered and mean spirited people who have no tolerance
for
points of view other than their own. You seem to have joined the
"them against
us" mindset, regardless of political persuasion.

Discussing issues with people like yourself (who would likely be
characterized as far more of an extremist than I) is pointless.

Hope your business is doing well.

Eisboch

I don't think you addressed this point...

If a "conservative" would make a comment about a Hispanic, it'd be
along the lines of "illegal, shiftless, lazy, freeloader, scab,
etc."

And you count Plume's comment about the Hispanic population being
family-oriented and warm as being equivalently racist.

Is something about the second statement derogatory or do you find
warm, family-oriented people to be offensive?

many more hispanics that are legal are incarcerated?

Please show me where I said "all" Hispanics.

Actually, I said, "They are mostly a warm, friendly people who care about

use of mostly, and that's been my experience. Did you take a poll or are
you just upset that they're here?

Mostly is a quantity. I am ****ed about the illegals. I have legal friends
that are Hispanic. Including a son in law. I speak enough Spanish to hold
a conversation in a Spanish speaking country with a non English speaker. We
could end the illegal problem by the end of the week. Pass another Bracero
Bill. Work permits. We allow 100,00's of thousands of educated workers in
to keep down the wages in the professional disciplines using the H-1 visa
program. I worked along side Bracero's as a teenager. No problem with
them. But we have caused the major problem with illegal immigrants by
awarding them benefits, and then amnesty. Pays to break the law and come
here without papers.

Ok. Well, I'm ****ed about illegals also. We have plenty of laws on the
books already. It's a matter of money for enforcement. And, it's not
economically or logistically possible to deport 12 million people all at a
time. The current budget calls for an increase in funding for enforcement,
mostly auditing companies that are likely to hire illegals. That is
progressing, but too slowly. There are also technical mechanisms (e.g.,
actually being able to cross-ref social security numbers with birth dates,
etc.) that would help find those who use forged documents. We need to have
better border security, not so much for the Mexican/South of the Border
groups, as for terrorists.

We don't need civilians armed to the teeth patrolling the border. That's
just dumb on a number of levels. Nothing wrong with spotters, but they need
to be able to call law enforcement to take action.

But the law even if called does nada. The Federal Government is failing in
one of their primary duties. That is protecting the nation.

I think one of the biggest problems this country has is our political
leaders' tendency to "fix" a problem by simply passing a law. It's lunacy.
Makes the political blow-hards sound like they are on top of the issues, but
the endless barrage of new laws they author and pass are worthless if they
are unenforceable or the will to enforce them is lacking.

As I said, we have plenty of law on the subject. It's enforcement, and that
has to be funded for it to be effective. This was true during lead up to the
Madoff situation also.

Absolutely. That seems to be one of the biggest differences between this country
and Germany, for example. In Germany the laws are enforced.

One law that used to catch a lot of soldiers is that forbidding drinking while
driving. Many times a soldier would be drinking on his way home, and a German
would see him get out of his car with a beer in his hand. The German would then
call the local Polizei who would knock on the soldier's door and give
breathalize him. Then they'd haul his butt downtown.

You don't see the aggressive driving in Germany that you do here, because over
there a citizen can make a report to the cops. A cop isn't required to witness
the behavior.

Huh? If a company is found to be deliberately hiring illegals, it's a big
deal. What were the previous administrations doing? Nothing. At least
something is starting to happen.
