we already pay one way or another. infant mortatlity isn't free
either., and we have some of the highest in the western world
We also have a huge group of 3rd world people living here. *We seem to be
one of the only large countries in the world who look the other way with
illegal immigration, or who allow sick people entry.
10% of france is muslim immigrants. yet they seem to do OK.

"It's expensive to provide this kind of health care and social
support. France's health care system is one of the most expensive in
the world."

"To fund universal health care in France, workers are required to pay
about 21 percent of their income into the national health care system.
Employers pick up a little more than half of that. (French employers
say these high taxes constrain their ability to hire more people.)"

With France's mean income tax rate hovering around 50%, you can hardly
say they're doing "OK".

You should move there. *The taxes you'll pay will give you something
new to whine about.

Believe it or not, the pursuit of wealth is not the be all and end all
of life.

Then why do you tell lie after lie about what you own?

I don't have a $414 printer. Mine was $99 and faxes, scan, and copies!

I don't know how much my HP 895Cxi cost, but it's been a good printer.
I actually bought a Canon just for printing photographs. But, shortly
thereafter, I discovered how good a job Costco could do, for much less
than the cost of paper, let alone ink. Now the Canon barely gets used.
I keep waiting for the HP to bite the dust so I can get down to one
printer.

I've got a cherry HP fax machine I haven't used in years. Hardly anyone
faxes anymore. I have an eFax account that gets used maybe once every
quarter by me to send a fax. The few faxes I do get seem to come mostly
from overseas contributors to a newsletter I edit and publish.

I had a Canon i9900 (I think that's the model) photo printer, which I
had for four or five years or so. It started to malfunction, and the
estimate for shipping it to a qualified repair depot and back plus the
cost of repairs was more than the printer was worth. I did some research
and then found a really good price the Epson I bought, and it came with
a $50 rebate.

There's nothing wrong with using Costco for everyday prints, especially
4x6 prints.

I am sure it suits you to a tee.

It does. You also chose not to tell me if you have a boat.

Interesting.

I have a boat, Bruce. More than one. Got one up for sale, maybe.

But I'm really more proud to own my $414 printer.

Edit: I paid $414, but the retail price was $699. Walmart has some
great prices.
