We' ve a new establishment here called 'National Harbor'. Place has a nice dock, so we stopped for a planned cup of coffee. A young guy comes running out of a shack and asks what we want. I tell him we want to walk up and get some coffee. He says, "That'll be $10 an hour." We left. Now I know why there's hardly ever anyone tied up at the docks. http://tinyurl.com/yeo3lof You can tie up for free if you're having dinner at the restaurant next door (Parrot Key Caribbean Grill). We have quite a few places like that. http://www.fortmyers-sanibel.com/do/...detail=marinas The town of Key West is a different matter however since it is a big tourist town and dockspace is at a premium. $10/day to park a dinghy is par for the course down there, and more like $250/day for our big boat. Well, I guess I won't be boating to Key West for the free parking. -- America needs Obamacare like Nancy Pelosi needs a Halloween mask. John H Al the Wop's in the Sacramento Delta will refund the docking fees at the Dockhouse in Locke when you have dinner there. Other places have guest docks. Maybe we are more laid back here. http://www.deltaboating.com/dining.htm |
