That picture was taken at Salty Sam's Marina in Ft Myers Beach which is sort of in the boating backyard of "gfretwell" and myself. Unfortunately it's not a very good day for boating right now: http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=33931 I was out for a quick spin in the runabout yesterday but it was a chilly 55 degrees on the water. Today is worse, much worse. It's beginning to warm up in Alexandria, according to the TV folks. But, my thermometer shows 18.5 F out there. Not golfing weather, nor boating. You reckon those folks would let me tie up my Key West at no charge? We' ve a new establishment here called 'National Harbor'. Place has a nice dock, so we stopped for a planned cup of coffee. A young guy comes running out of a shack and asks what we want. I tell him we want to walk up and get some coffee. He says, "That'll be $10 an hour." We left. Now I know why there's hardly ever anyone tied up at the docks. http://tinyurl.com/yeo3lof -- John H All decisions, even those of liberals, are the result of binary thinking. |
