Today I opened my electricity bill to find a golden opportunity for an
Al Gore believer to step forward and do something about global
warming.

Here's the deal:

For only 1.5 cents more per kilowatt-hour of electricity usage, I can
purchase renewable energy certificates equal to 100% of my monthly
usage. As I average about 1000 kWh per month, this would amount to
*only* $15 per month in addition to my normal bill.

So, here is a chance to make a difference. You send me $15 per month,
and I sign up for the program! Then, 100% of my electricity usage will
be from renewable energy sources, to wit: 69% wind and 31% biomass
from facilities in Missouri, Indiana, and Louisiana.

WHAT A DEAL!

I know several of you will want to participate, so I must take the
first offer. Also, as I don't want to jerk the electric company around
every month, I'd like to get a years worth of payment in advance. Just
send a check for $180 and we're good.

Do you seriously think anyone here with half a brain would trust you with
$15? How about this... give me your electric company's phone number and your
account number. I'll pay them the $180 directly. Put up or shut up.

I've trusted him for way more than that, and still would.

I notice he hasn't "put up", and because he's so unhinged, I'll bet he
also won't "shut up"

That's bull**** and you know it. It's just more of John's attempt to
try and derail ANYTHING that may help subdue global warming. This
unhinged idiotic bull**** is getting so commonplace here that Vic has
left, just as many had left when Harry was doing on the left side of
the aisle. You may have direct knowledge of something, but the fact
is, he posted that bull**** to rec.boats therefore until I see
evidence that he's done so right here, there is none.
