I can't recall one pre-voyage or voyage of yours where something significant failed on your boats. Maybe you should take up...bingo. Herr Krause. At least he makes an attempt to prepare, where you only boat by wishful thinking. Did sail from Shell Point over to Panacea. Panacea has become very run down with the marina mostly empty and two sunken sailboats at the dock. Their slip fee was $175/month. At least they have fuel there and a restaurant wheras Shell Point has neither. You mean, "more run down." When I visited the marina there in the mid 90's, it was already run down. Did your mast fall off on the way? |

However, this really was not so bad because it resulted in the small bay getting cleaned up. Property values went through the ceiling for salt marsh and a new marina was built. Now, most of it is vacant with the docks of the marina missing boards and nasty looking boats all over. It'll go back to being a sleepy crabbing and fishing area. |

Great drive down from Tallahassee, too, including part of a national forest where one might expect to see klan rallies and albino kids playing banjo. Don't get out of the car. I haven't been there in about 15 years, so maybe it has gotten better...or worse...depending upon how you define such terms. |

Not only do I have a boat, I use it. I also believe in maintenance. You, on the other hand, don't have a boat. Or a life.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Yeah, and you're too fat, lazy, and untalented to do any of it yourself. D'oh. I have a practically new motor, still under warranty. Routine maintenance costs only a few hundred bucks a year. I can afford it. As for "untalented," well, unlike you, I have a modern outboard* and it requires all manner of training and special tools to keep it running properly, not the wrench set from sears you bought at a yard sale. I change the engine oil and filter mid-season. So far, nothing else on the engine has required anything other than routine seasonal maintenance. * there's no reason to believe you own any boat whatsoever... I think the prob with the GPS is battery contacts, not sure yet. Living adjacent to the area Harry describes for most of my life, I have never seen a Klan Rally but I am sure that Harry is very familiar with how to find them as are many racists. Normally, I beat myself up for having wimped out on things like this but am now happy about it. Winds of 25 kts at the buoys. Indeed, I do know how to sniff out right-wing racists such as, for example, herring here. |
