I'm beginning to change my view toward Franken.

So I'm really not sure of the guy yet, but I'm beginning to take a
look at some of the stuff Al Franken is doing. like, standing up to
old party hardliners on both sides of the fence, questioning the
dubious acts of the Healthcare bill etc.

Here' you read it and I'll shut up.

I don't find his attacks of Republicans and Lieberman very impressive.
I think he's a glory hound.

I really don't either, But I found this statement interesting:

""Sen. Franken is certainly not making friends on either side of the
aisle," GOP strategist Ron Bonjean, a former Capitol Hill aide, told
Fox News...

.... Despite his freshman status, Franken hasn't shied away from
confrontation with senior lawmakers, some of whom have spent decades
in the chamber."

Now I understand he's the new kid on the block, but I suppose what I'm
saying is time will certainly tell if he's going to shake up capitol
hill in a constructive way, or if he's going to do nothing but make a
jerk out of himself, that neither side will accept or even really
like.

I'm watching.

Some people don't like honesty if it runs counter to their politics.
Hopefully Franken won't get corrupted by the sleazeballs populating
the Senate.
Leiberman and McCain are pure sleaze.
They'll flat out lie with a straight face.
McCain came to Leiberman's defense about Franken not allowing him to
rattle on with his inanities, saying he never saw such a thing happen.
Just saw a clip of the same thing happen to Byrd - in 2002 I think.
Who objected to Byrd being allowed to continue rattling on?
John McCain.
Most of these guys don't deserve any respect.
Best we can hope for is dueling to the death be made legal.
Might thin out their ranks temporarily.
More likely they'd stop their non-stop lying, the fear of the duel
lending them some sense of honor.

Like I said. The better the liar, the better the politician.

I completely disagree... unless you're talking about demagoguery. Certainly
not for the better of the country.

chair, it would no doubt look straight to you also!
