Actually, not all that dissimilar, once you think about it....

"Christians" conveniently forget how many wars "christians" have waged
against other christians and people of other faiths, how many
individuals have been murdered, tortured, or maimed in the name of
christianity, or how many cultures have been wiped out in the name of
christianity. In terms of killings over the last 2000 years, there's not
much difference between the christian and muslim faiths.

Hell, you don't have to look further than this newsgroup to find
"christians" who pay no attention to the teachings of their "savior,"
and yet believe their are following their faith.

Yeah, the last bastion of the "informed elite". I have done about as
much traveling as most here and get out plenty. I don't get out to
campus bars, coffee clutches, or union meetings...

Please elucidate on your posit that we are "bigoted and ignorant about
modern christians." From what I have seen you post here, I suspect I
know far more about that religion than you do.

You seem to be unaware that your saviour was a man of great social
consciousness, and got into serious trouble by pointing out shortcomings
of the society in which he lived. You, on the other hand, are neither
social nor conscious, but I'm sure you understand the problems of being
short.

Christmas, and the fact that so many people get so much enjoyment from

what it's all about.

can be bought separately?

Gene, I don't think most people here get the fact that the way we
celebrate Christmas in modern times has just about NOTHING to do with
Christianity.
