A three hour cruise

Put out on the lake, and my new rewiring was all correct. Truck lights and boat lights all worked properly. New modifications in side the boat did good, too. GPS mount, anchor stowage supersized cleats, lots of little things that were dragging. New battery box with external lugs. The boat fired right up, after starting hard last week because I had not run the gas out of the carbs, and it varnished up. We went fishing, and caught a limit of eight chunky rainbows that all were right at 16". They were hitting and hitting hard. Took it out of the fishing area past No Wake buoys, and made two long fast 35mph passes, and it ran like a clock. Launch and recovery was easy, as I had an intelligent assistant. Was able to determine where I want to put new rollers, bunks, and guides by looking at the trailer with the boat off, and observing it during launch/recovery. Turned into a gray dull day. Right at sunset, the clouds broke, and there was a beautiful gold and purple sunset. We caught two trout in about two hours, then with the sunset, caught six in about twenty minutes. It's getting there. Using the boat sure is the best way to figure out how to improve things, and what you really want in your configuration. Hope to go fishing weekly, except for if it is really cold. Going to try to figure out the crappie on this lake. Looks like we're consistently hitting good strings of nice sized rainbows.
