Asian carp may have breached barrier

http://www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/70573047.html Probably too late, some 8 years ago now, we used to see these in Port Washington and Kenosha docks. Not quite as big as this, but add 8 years and it could easily be one of the ones we saw. Even saw people shore them and they were certainly carp. |

Asian carp may have breached barrier

http://www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/70573047.html When we took our houseboat through the Chain of Rocks canal above St. Louis, the Asian Carp were jumping behind their boat as we were moving through the lock, at times up to 6' above the water. I was able to catch a couple holding a dip net over the water behind the boat. We had a v-bottom aluminum boat in tow behind the houseboat, and when we reached the Chain of Rocks lock, we took time to throw the carp that had trapped themselves in it out of the boat. A big carp can take a person out of a small boat, and it has happened (especially on the Illinois river). -- Posted via NewsDemon.com - Premium Uncensored Newsgroup Service -------http://www.NewsDemon.com------ Unlimited Access, Anonymous Accounts, Uncensored Broadband Access |
