Heh - how about that. Was Hillary smart to be suckered out of the Senate and into the Obama administration? Can she resign in disgust and still run against Obama successfully in 2012? Or, would she have been better off staying in the Senate and being a loyal Democrat and then turning when Obama became a failure as President? What are the odds that she will serve out the full four years as Sec of State? If not, will she be fired or resign? My money is on her getting fired within 6 months. Based upon what? She won't be fired but I still would not be surprised to see her leave around 2011 "to spend more time with her family". (and perhaps get her campaign back on track) It really all depends on how successful Obama is by then. If he is perceived as being unbeatable she will probably stay on. Hillary isn't going to mount a campaign against a sitting US President who is a member of her party. What might happen is this, though: Joe Biden is 67 and will be 70 in 2012. He may not want another term as VP, or his health might deteriorate. Hillary Clinton is 62 and will be 65 in 2012. She might be interested in the VP seat. As far as I know, she has no significant health issues. -- If you are flajim, herring, loogy, GC boater, johnson, topbassdog, rob, or one of a half dozen others, you're wasting your time by trying to *communicate* with me through rec.boats, because, well, you are among the permanent members of my dumbfoch dumpster. As far as I know, she has no significant health issues. I think the only way it happens is if Obama ends up in "Carter" trouble. (Malaise and stagflation, with foreign policy in shambles) and if the GOP actually came up with a credible candidate. I haven't seen that guy yet. I still say the GOP threw away the last election, assuming they were going to lose anyway and not wanting to sacrifice anyone good. McCain was still going to be in the senate and Palin was just an experiment. If she had stayed in Alaska she would still be a star. I don't think the GOP had anyone really good in 2008, and I haven't seen anyone emerge who has the potential of being really good. Romney continues to make a fool of himself. Palin continues to make a fool of herself. Gingrich has integrity and old marital issues that will knock him out of contention. Plus, the GOP is being pushed further and further to the right by the evangelicals and other extremist lunatics. Look what they are trying to do to Charlie Crist in Florida. Crist is a popular guy who has done a reasonable job as governor of Florida, and a fellow who could attract a lot of Dem and Indy voters. He would win the Senate seat. So, what are the GOP nutcases doing? Trying to derail him. -- If you are flajim, herring, loogy, GC boater, johnson, topbassdog, rob, or one of a half dozen others, you're wasting your time by trying to *communicate* with me through rec.boats, because, well, you are among the permanent members of my dumbfoch dumpster. They seem like a fun bunch, and probably as well qualified as Sarah P. :-) I like that idea! Party at the White House, byob. -- Nom=de=Plume |

Jeb has a fairly attractive son tho, and he is actually hispanic (mom's side) so he is really positioned to do well in a rapidly "browning" country. He is in the Navy intelligence community right now and may be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan (no doubt to get his "I ain't a chicken hawk" ticket punched). The question is would we really elect another George (P) Bush. Maybe he should call himself Jorge Garnica Was he one of the "brown" ones that Bush, Sr. got in trouble for identifying? I didn't see anything wrong with the comment, but lots of people did. -- Nom=de=Plume |
