Local authorities chalked it up to an errant hunting shot, since it didn't penetrate the shingle on the house. Of course Dobbs made big hay of it, claiming that someone had targeted his house and nearly killed his wife. Like I said, he's been driving quickly towards an emotional cliff. Perhaps CNN recognized that he needed a change of scenery. |

They were not illegal immigrants, they were "day laborers", and *many* were "Hispanic immigrants". All working for cash, neither the employer nor themselves paying the taxes they owe the government. Now talk about enforcing the laws already on the books. Johnson Sure doesn't look like they were enforcing them in a way that could be prosecuted. They just shut the area down. That's the trouble with our democracy. You need to have proof of illegal activities. They didn't want to go through the trouble. Who are you going after next? Waitresses? |

Now talk about enforcing the laws already on the books. It's called due process. You can't shut down a whole class of people because of a suspected illegal activity. I'm not familiar with the specifics. Sounds like someone in the town screwed up. Exactly. Lazy fools who don't understand the law. "Let's just shut it down!" They cost the community nearly $300,000 because of their stupidity, and Johnson uses it as a pillar in his argument against illegals. Duh. |
