Guys with shallow draft boats like the Ranger fish The Race like that all the time - in particular with a strong tide between Fisher's Island and Race Rock. In fact, I think Scott was with me one time when we fished Fisher's Island point on an incoming tide. Very similar technique. Great for stripers. Just seems you should be able to catch fish without much work at all. Bouncing around and all that. Nope. Just use that boat to get there, drop in a baited hook, put a bell on the rod tip, lean back and fall asleep. Yep. What's life without a little adventure from time-to-time? :) |
