Were it so, you could fill a glass with ice water and watch the water level rise as the ice melts. Drinks do not overflow when left alone to melt, even if they are brim full and mostly ice. Ice shrinks as it melts. When glacier ice falls into the ocean the level rises, so it cannot cause a further rise as it melt. Casady |
