Default I remember the days when....

This was a really cool place to hage out and discuss fisshing,
boating, new boat products, mechanical tips, marine electronics,
lakes, rivers and boating experiences in general.

There was no "dope army" no "pink army", no "neo-cons" no "libs", no
Bush, No Obama. No poking, gouging, backstabbing or back biting and
one-up-manship.

Seems like people who really wanted to discuss such matters in
rec.boats were plentiful and all was good with no disdain, calousness,
resentments, or rudeness.

This place used to be a boating group with no political hacking.

What happened?

It seem in the last five eyars or so, this board hs gone from a true
boating/marine community to a political bilge sump.

What happened?

Like Lennon said "Maybe I'm a dreamer" but it would be nice if folks
would calm down and return the forum to it's origional intent, which
was evidently to discuss boating issues without all the political
harrassment.

Can it be done?

I doubt it, that is unless others want it to.

So... I am not set up with filters, but I do know how to ignore. If
one can't do that then they need to use filters to block out people
that make posts simply to make others feel uneasy or cause unrest.

Can it be done? Sure!

But not if everyone likes it the way it is. And if that's got to be
then perhaps some of us should look for other forums where boaters
can get along..

What do you all say? Can we clean up the play ground?

We tried to institute truces but two people repeatedly violated them,

Quite frankly, the Dems are on the run now that their activities have
been exposed and now they whine about it while they posted anti-Bush
crap for years. What goes around.........

What about it Harry, w3fh, jps, etc, if you want a truce reply.
Otherwise, there is enough info right now to destroy the Democratic
party and I am happy to discuss it. I'd prefer a truce.

Me, too. Maybe we need to form a class so we can learn to use all those
little buttons and arrows on our computers so that we avoid the swamp.
BLOCK SENDER. UP. DOWN. MARK THREAD. But then, if a person sees a
Subject: "How to properly seduce a sheep", and responds, well, what can I
say?

There are still boat questions here. There is also a critical mass
situations in this country that CAN AND WILL affect the ability of each boat
owner here to gas the boat and go boating. There are already thousands of
regulations we have to comply with, and some places have even outlawed two
strokes. What if some educated politician decides that boating is just a
way of wasting resources and a source of pollution, and outlaws it except
for commercial fishing? As Judy Tenuda used to say, "It could happen!"

If the current gang were thrown out, and hairdressers, truck drivers, and
landscapers were elected and ran the country in a decent manner, would we
still have political discourse? Of course. Somebody's ox would get gored.

But yes, there are some political discussions going on that defy logic and
qualify as schizophrenic mumblings. And that is what some are. Some
schizoid with an ISP and a keyboard. Thirty years ago, it was a guy with a
ladder on the streetcorner screaming about something. Or people wearing
"THE WORLD IS GOING TO END - GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY". It's human nature.

But it is a choice if you want to engage a schizophrenic and think that you
will convert them or show them the enlightened path in the short time you
have. The person may be mentally the type who could be given a chair, and
not comprehend that its purpose is to sit upon. What do you do in that
case? Realize and admit that you are trying to teach a chimpanzee how to
type a thank you note.

But no. We still keep **** wrestling and complaining of the smell. We are
smart enough when walking down the street and seeing a pile of dog **** to
just step around. No big deal. But some have to test it. Step in it.
Smell it. Taste it. Then bitch, bitch, bitch about it. Sound like anyone
you know?

Just stop feeding the trolls, and they will find another bridge.

Really.

Steve

We tried? Who "tried?"

It looks to me that the "I will try again if everyone agrees" actually
means "I won't quit because they won'tquit" And your follow up post
sort of proved it.

C'mon man. I enjoy your boating stuff a lot.

Harry has made it clear he will not stop (See his posts after I
suggested we try again). I will stop unless he gets out of control.
Clearly, HK has no control of himself and no desire to get along.

There's nothing new in all of this. Harry is a mentally ill
sociopath. How about you?
