In the local news at 10 channel right after the speech they said it is correct that illegal immigrants would not be eligible for universal health care. However, at the end of that news report, they did mention (the disclosure) in a quick report that although that is true, illegal immigrants *DO NOT* have to say they are undocumented illegal immigrants. If people cross over for health care, it tends to be the other way, from America to Mexico, where costs are considerably cheaper. You mean like Steve McQueen did, right? Do you remember "alternative" Mexican treatments like coffee enemas and laetrile? You don't? Why anyone would go to a third world county like Mexico for medical treatment puzzles me. Because it's cheaper? Hell, here it's free! Ever hear of Medicaid? "If you can't afford to pay for medical care right now, Medicaid can make it possible for you to get the care that you need so that you can get healthy – and stay healthy." ** I owned a wholesale flower business from 1979 to 2002. I employed only Mexican workers, all which were illegal *but* showed me a SS card when they were hired. I knew the SS cards were bogus, but I also was not the police so I did not investigate whether they were genuine or not. It was not my job. I had a large turnover of employees over the years and I know about health care in Mexico, not only from what I heard from them, but from my brother-in-law, who immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico. He is a physician, a neurosurgeon in fact. So I probably know more about Mexican health care than most on this group. If you're a rich Mexican you'll have access to good medical care, by coming to America! And not only Mexicans, but Canadians, Spaniards (Jose Carrera, opera tenor) Arab Sheiks from the UAE, from Italy, the Prime Minister, Desmond Tutu, The King of Tonga, and thousands more from countries with free medical care. So why America? Why do these thousands come here when they have "good" medical care in their own countries? Why? And now can you imagine the droves of sick people who will come here for medical treatments when they find out it's free to non-citizens? Again, no ID required, no proof of U.S. citizenship, no questions of national status or origin, no questions of birthplace, and again, no English required, because by law an interpreter *must* be provided. At no cost of course. Well, no cost to the applicant, but a cost to the American tax payer. I can just imagine the laughter across the world after hearing of obamacare and how stupid we must be to allow this to happen. btw, I got paid today, and I noticed my net pay is down a little due to new taxes. And all this despite lower taxes for "95% of Americans" according to the messiah. I consider myself one of the "95%" and I'm still waiting for my taxes to go down. Has yours gone down? Anyone? But not necessarily better. Did I say that it was? The WHO has America ranked at 37, Mexico at 61. I then cross over (it's done daily, by many) go to the nearest health provider, be it a cancer specialist or hospital and tell them I need help. Why? I thought we were talking about an unemployed, poor, Mexican? Now, we are talking about Arab Sheiks? WTF? My point was, Mexico has universal coverage. If you are Mexican, and poor, you will stay home for fully subsidized health care. My second point was, Mexico has a large medical tourism sector. Americans routinely head south for dentistry, plastic surgeries, and other elective surgeries, because costs are considerably cheaper there. Anyone? Please list the distortions, lies and misdirections, with proof that they are what you claim. It's in the bill they said. So let me get this right, I have cancer, serious cancer that will need a lot of attention, with surgery, etc, etc. I live in Mexico, I am unemployed, very poor, and will die without good medical care. I then cross over (it's done daily, by many) go to the nearest health provider, be it a cancer specialist or hospital and tell them I need help. Because I would not qualify for benefits as the bill is written, I would just say my name Jose Jimenez. Nothing else. No proof that I am a citizen of the U.S. Actually I wouldn't even have to speak English, as there are many U.S. citizens that don't speak English. So Obama is right. No health care for illegals. But whatcha bet the illegals will find out about the small print, very pronto! Eddie Bull****. |

The myth that folks without insurance can't get treated here is just that. Of course if you are a legal citizen you get a 24 thousand dollar bill like I just did... Ah, so nothing has changed. To get back to Eddie's point about poor, unemployed Mexicans coming here for health care, why would they? Mexico *has* universal coverage. You know, I haven't heard anyone say that you can't get treated here, with or without insurance coverage. However, with or without coverage, an illness is the number one cause of personal bankruptcy. Without reform, health care is approaching 20% GDP. Our health care system is broken, and needs help. |
