Never have understood the "Messiah" comment. I believe it's basis is in
a not too well hidden racist view. It's possible the people who use it
don't mean, on the surface, to be racists, but this is how it looks.

the word "Messiah" as a negative.

Accusing someone of being a false deity is amusing at best, especially
from a group (Republicans) that never accuses TV preachers of the same
thing.

How would you define someone who made good of the American dream?

What you would say if you were sober, (and no longer a fool) about
someone who used their head and good fortune to make good of themselves?
