I believe that after the South lost the American Civil War, there
were many families who moved to NS. I was not aware that there
were Black family that also moved to NS.
They may have been the black slave owners who moved to NS.

That was my first thought, too..... most Yankees don't even know
there was such a thing!

My favorite part about touring any plantation in the south is that
you always hear about the good slave owners, especially this guy in
South Carolina near Charleston who was a preacher. He was a good
slave owner because he taught the slave children how to read the
bible. Freaking unbelievable that the docents would try and push
that crap off on those taking a tour.

There were no "good" slave owners, anytime, anywhere.

That should be "There are." Slavery is still practiced today in
Africa, the Middle East and Asia and in parts of Eastern Europe. I am
still trying to figure out why you, Harry, are not actively working
towards the complete and total abolition of slavery world-wide?

There's plenty of slavery in the United States...exploited adult
workers, exploited child labor, mandatory unpaid overtime, et cetera.
Given, there is real slavery abroad, but there is plenty of economic
slavery right here in the good old USA.

Your concern for your fellow man held in physical bondage is admirable.

The Brits "outlawed" slavery more than 20 years before the U.S. civil war,
and that included its territories, too. The blacks in Nova Scotia in the
19th century probably were descended from freed slaves from the American
colonies and the early United States. A number of slaves were offered
freedom by the Brits in exchange for their service in the military against
the United States in the War of 1812, and were given land in Nova Scotia
after that war.

Slavery was almost dead in the US. About the same time as the Brits banned
slavery. Was not economically viable. Major reason Britain banned it. But
about the time slavery would of ended here, Eli Whitney invented the cotton
gin. Made slavery economically viable. And only a minority of the people
owned slaves. Even freed blacks owned slaves. Something like 26% of the NC
households owned slaves. A bad thing, but it is a hell of a lot different
than Harry's "Economic Slavery".

Harry hates the south and anything southern. I wonder how Don's
connection with the south is going to hurt their loving and nurturing
relationship?

You should make an appointment to see someone before it's too late.
