nice summary!
I paid full working dues to my union for 25 years. I was always
happy to
write the check each quarter.
I never felt more like a statistic when I worked in the union when I
was young. I was nothing more than a drone, as were the others.
Having had some encounters with the Soviet Bloc when in my life time,
I have appreciated the fact that working under union duress was a
microcosmic experience of communism. --

of engineers, etc, with no union protection at all, courtesy of
'management watching out for stockholders' when they were really
protecting themselves.

Start your own company if you don't like the way "management" is
running the one where your are an employee. Does your employment
contract have a clause that says you are guaranteed lifetime
employment? Oh, that's right you don't have an employment contract.

It's going to be an interesting day when your job is phased out and you
are dumped into the job market without an appropriate educational
background.

When you have 31 years experience a BA/BS degree from 30 odd years ago
becomes less important. My ability to perform the job is more important.

"But...but...I was a marine..."

The majority of people see that as a positive.

snerk

I got paid today. Mr Evil CEO deposited a big fat check into my my bank
account.

A single stinking diploma from a third rate liberal arts school in
Kansas is all he has to hang his hat on. And the only thing he'll be
remembered for when he departs for the after life is WAFA.

Gee whiz, I get checks from my consulting business all month long, and
manage to get to the bank when necessary to deposit them. Y-a-w-n.

You must be working for a really small company if all the CEO has to do
is handle payroll.

I didn't know the DNC paid weekly.

It is small compared to my wife's company. My company has 40,000
employees world wide and my wife's has 200,000.

Interesting fact about my wife. She has worked for the same company for
25 years and she will be getting two pensions from this one company.

Why working for large companies has man advantages.
