One a garmin 45 that the wife gave me in about 1990. It lost a couple rows of pixels a few years ago, when I turned it on. My GPSMAP 162 (?), my 76Csx have never had a problem. My Csx needs to be sent to Garmin, but the esp would not pay for the fact that I dropped it and the plastic screen is cracked. |

For just a chartplotter without all the bells and whistles look at a couple year old Garmin. My black and white GMS Map 62 (I think that is the number) still does a good job. Preloaded maps. Does not show bottom contours, can load the expensive maps but the performance sucks then. i've been looking on craig's list and ebay...amazing how few there are for sale You can buy a Humminbird 300 series plotter and depth finder combo for about $240. Preloaded maps. |

Cheap is a word not frequently associated with avionics. Nor anything that has a "marine" label attached to it. The certifications and maintenance records for avionics equipment makes *marine* look like a bargain by comparison. |
