That is almost expected on I-40 west of Wilmington, NC.... otherwise you'll get run over. Then I suppose I'd be a traffic hazard, since I would not tow a boat that fast. Now you know why, except for my son's G3.... I don't tow..... I go the speed limit usually. But then, I've hauled much larger and heavier things than my bass boat. I found myself moving along pretty good this weekend a couple of times coming home from Maine... My liberty gets **** for mileage. My new Dodge truck doesn't do too bad, but could be better especially when towing. It's got the tow package, so the rear end is geared a little lower and that doesn't help unless you are going slow. This was not on the interstae but on US27 passing thru places every 10 minutes where I'd have to slow to 35. I expect on the Interstate with cruise control at 60 mph, I would do better. Cruise control does not work for me on the interstate or anywhere else. It wants to constantly pop in and out of gear - drives me crazy. I'd rather just shift when I want or let the speed drop going uphill and pick it back up on the downside. Truckers love it. -- John H |
