So what if he is racist? Blacks can't be racist? I'd point out,

black.
White men, mouthing off to cops, get arrested daily. It doesn't
make for
a national topic of conversation, but that's not racism, is it?
Do the arrested white men immediately claim racial profiling and
threaten to sue?
That's what made this a "racist" issue .... until some people woke
up.

Right...there's no racist profiling of blacks. Right. And Sarah Palin
is a rocket scientist.

Now, there's a "stupidity" statement if I ever heard one. Nobody ever
said there is no racist profiling of blacks. The question was did it
occur in this particular incident. Seems the facts say no.

Eisboch
"Seems"?

Based on what?

Police reports?

About the last thing anyone should believe is a report police prepare
commenting on the behavior of their fellow officers. It's not until they
are caught with their hands in the cookie jar that the higher ups in
police departments take any action, usually. There have been a few
exceptions, but...there's no shortage of corruption in many police
departments, and that corruption includes financial shenanigans,
doctoring evidence, withholding evidence, colluding with prosecutors,
brutality, framing innocent people, et cetera. Think otherwise? Just
look up "police corruption." The number of cases is endless.

When the police report on their own conduct, be very very skeptical.

You are so cute when you get frustrated.

Eisboch

Frustrated? With you? With the professor? With the Cambridge cops? You
have to be kidding.

Are you devolving into another sanctimonious, self-righteous right-winger?

It's a lousy path to follow.

Or are you in denial about police corruption...now that would be funny.
And so typically right wing.

I have never claimed anything other than the fact that in this particular
case, there was another side to the story and, as the facts have emerged, it
appears maybe was right.

You are the one extending that basic comment to now mean that I am another
sanctimonious, self-righteous righ-winger and in denial about police
corruption.

True to form Harry. You never change.
Your really are a form of predictable entertainment.

Y-a-w-n. The incident has become the latest diversionary tactic of the
right, which has no ideas, no plans and no clue about resolving any of
the issues facing this country.

And your yawn and comments have absolutely nothing to do with the
subject being discussed.

Diversionary?

Eisboch
There are divergent views on that incident. The matter is closed. Time
to move on...to the real issues the Republicans like to avoid.

hehehe. You are so ....."Party line"......

Eisboch

He's so predictable.

Got back home last night. Tail lights still don't work I did get turn and
brake lights working though. Only other serious problem was the steps quit
in South Carolina.
Thanks for the hospitality. It was great visiting with you guys.

Ditto here. Anytime.

OK, I haven't paid much attention to this "event". From what little I
have heard about it, it seemed more like a ****ing contest between a home
owner and a cop, than a racial issue. My comments weren't about what
happened, but what is happening. What makes this noteworthy? The only
thing I can see, is Gates is a black man.

I got the impression the home owner made it a race issue.

I think you are absolutely correct. If there were no charges of racial
profiling, this event would not be noteworthy, newsworthy or probably even
heard about.

So, the question is, who made the charges of racial profiling?

But then, what's noteworthy about racial profiling?

95% of police work is profiling. The other 5% is luck.

Obama picked the wrong event to broach the subject. And Obama had the
stupidity to admit that he didn't have all the facts when he passed
summary judgment on the police.

Who has all the facts?

Whatever moral rules you have proposed, abide by them as they were laws,
and as if you would be guilty of impiety by violating any of them,
*unless* you are a conservative Republican office holder or minister. If
that is your position in life, then anything goes.

The radio recorder. And, when the tapes are released and Gates is found
to be a ranting and raving lunatic his credibility will fall to zero
with anyone with any modicum of intelligence. But, those with a
political axe to grind will always claim that the police have altered
the tapes.

So, give it your best shot Harry.
