Think "golf!" I'm not worried about golf. I'm worried about my grass. We need some rain! -- John H We've had plenty of rain, and then a lot of Georgia sunshine, my damned Bermuda grass grows so fast in this type of weather that I can't mow it enough! Up here Bermuda is considered a weed. Most folks here are into tall fescue, which takes water, lots of water. My neighbor spent several thousand dollars having his lawn removed, after doing the RoundUp thing several times, and had the entire thing resodded. All just to get rid of the Bermuda which had found a home in his yard. That was about three years ago. The Bermuda is back. The last time I watered my lawn was in 1992. Every spring the grass turns green. Every summer it turns brown. Every fall it turns green and every winter it turns brown. The cycle repeats every year without me having to water it. Why would I want to water my lawn in the summer? I would just have to cut the grass and pay a higher water bill. |
