I finally got the actuator modified back to original and installed -
all set to bleed the brakes and get 'er back on the road.

NNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

The freakin' zerks on the BRAND NEW CALIPERS were rusted to nubs -
NUBS - nothing to grip, came apart in my hands and the brake wrench.

Now I gotta remove the calipers, use an easy out to get the rest of
the zerks out of the calipers....

WHAT NEXT!?!? *:)

Tom, concerning the ones on the trailer? When you dig them out, you
might not like what you see. Probably no more than reman calipers
cost, you might just consider changing the whole she-bang. I'm sure
the "cup' is probably fairly rusty to and will be difficult to
compress, and then what about all the other mechanism?

I dont' think it will be pretty or easy.
