NNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! The freakin' zerks on the BRAND NEW CALIPERS were rusted to nubs - NUBS - nothing to grip, came apart in my hands and the brake wrench. Now I gotta remove the calipers, use an easy out to get the rest of the zerks out of the calipers.... WHAT NEXT!?!? :) ~~ mutter ~~ I am curious as to the zerks on your calipers. What are they for? Er - bleeder screws? I've always called them "zerks" - I don't think they are "technically" zerks, but the last time I replaced the bleeder screws, which is what they are correctly called I believe, I asked for brake zerks at NAPA and they gave the screws to me. However, in my defense, zerk fittings are used on vacuum systems and certain types of high pressure forced fluid/air systems. They are also sometimes used as ways to get brake antifreeze into the brake system on trailers. |
