Default Sarah Palin to resign as governor...

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin shocked the political word Friday by announcing
that she will step down at the end of the month and transfer power to
Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell.

Palin made the announcement from her home in Wasilla, flanked by her
husband, Todd, and family and state commissioners.

The announcement came on the same week that one of her top public health
officials says she was forced out of office because Palin felt she
wasn't in step on social issues.

Palin's decision now allows her to avoid the difficult task of running
for president while serving as governor.

Todd Palin told FOX News that his wife will concentrate on "doing the
things for Alaska and the country" that she is passionate about and can
not do as governor with the limitation and constant opposition she deals
with within the state.

Palin, who defeated incumbent Gov. Murkowski in a primary in
2006,.gained national prominence when GOP presidential candidate John
McCain picked her as his running mate last year. But her approval
ratings in the state have skidded in recent months.

Palin has been dogged in recent months by ethics inquiries. Her office
last month announced the 15th dismissal of an ethics complaint against
her or one of her staff.

Another report:

After Sarah Palin's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week she has
announced she will be stepping down in a few weeks. In a press
conference call this morning, Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin has
announced she will not run for re-election and is stepping down as
governor.

She had a brief statement. She took no questions.

Her commissioners and Lt. Governor were with her at her home. Palin
did not relinquish the reigns of the state to the Lt. Governor while
running for vice president.

Lt. Governor Sean Parnell will step in as governor at the end of the
month. He was defeated by Congressman Don Young in the Republican
primary last year.

Rumors of an "iceberg scandal" have been circulating.

Resignation is certainly out of character for Sarah Palin. Senator
Mark Begich had a meeting with Sarah Palin two days ago with no
mention of her leaving office. Palin's press secretary, David Murrow
had posted on his Facebook page Wednesday, "David Murrow is
considering life's ironies." He was hired less than a month ago.
Yesterday he wrote, "There's gonna be some fireworks this weekend!"

Palin's father, Chuck Heath, told Fox News that he thought her
resignation was due to the negativity from the media. According to
Heath, the governor was unable to be effective while she was
constantly having to defend herself against ethics complaints and the
media.

Another stellar victory for the "conservative" Republicans. Who's next?

Funny how liberal-dims spend so much time on Palin and ignore the obvious
corruption of debt-bailouts from DC.

Guess Palin didn't buy off the the right people.

That woman is far out of the loop. She's got her own loop. Probably
going into training for her 2012 run. We haven't seen the last of
her. I predict an updated look that suggests less trashy origins.

You liberals *do* like your women plain and "workman-like", don't you?

I imagine you'd say Pelosi and Hillary are hot, right?

I'm supposed to care whether Mrs. Pelosi or Mrs. Clinton are "hot"?

No wonder you Republicans are continuing your journey down the drain.

I never thought Palin was hot. With her $10,000 a week makeup artist,
she managed to coverup her bad skin and look OK. Without that
professional help, she looks like an ordinary middle-aged woman who has
had five children and has porous skin.

No ****, sherlock... that's the first time you've posted that
particular opinion. roll-eyes

You must care... after all, you keep harping on Palin's appearance...
so appearance must mean something to you, right?

So answer my question... Why are you liberals attracted to fat, ugly
women with hair under their arms? Self-loathing?

I suppose what has you liberal-dims in a twist is that you like your women
barefoot stupid and corrupted.

Should be an easy run on Big Mouth Obama, by then people will be sick of
what he thinks.
