We've been docked at Marsh Harbour for the last couple of days near the eastern end of Great Abaco Island. Three guys at the dock next to us mave a mid-size sport fish, looks like an older Hatt or Viking, nothing fancy. They just came back in from fishing today and reported hooking (and releasing) two Marlin, the biggest of which they estimate at 400 to 500 pounds. The three of them took turns fighting it for over an hour. Some fish ! We've talked to other folks this week who have been catching small tuna. I'm guess we'll have to think about installing some outriggers on the Grand Banks. :-) I saw one once and it looked very funny, but what the heck. If you are serious, you could get some smaller gunnel mounted outriggers like these. http://www.leetackle.com/gunnel.html Add some Taco telescoping outriggers and you will still have a decent spread for a fraction of the cost of those you saw on the sport fisherman. http://www.tacomarine.com/item--Tele...utriggers.html The bonus is when you are done they stow away nicely. -dk |
