Palmetto Scoop: "The governor who dropped off the face of the Earth
for five days was reportedly found Monday night by his staff hiking
along the Appalachain Trail. That explanation of Mark Sanford's
disappearance has puzzled many folks in South Carolina and across the
country... Well, The Palmetto Scoop have discovered the answer to all
the secrecy: the governor may have gone for a naked hike. No, really.
An Associated Press article from last week heralded Sunday -- Father's
Day -- as 'Naked Hiking Day' on the Appalachian Trail. Yes, Naked
Hiking Day."

Freehiking on the Summer Solstice is the most normal thing I have
heard about this guy....

Turns out he free hiked to a plane and made off to somewhere other
than an Appalachian trail.

Yup, and I am sure your party has at least 500 govt. funded
investigators on the job hoping to pry further into his private
life... "No matter what the cost".. Remember Joe the Plumber... All he
did was ask a question.

To be fair and balanced, why didn't you adopt that stance when Clinton
got a simple hummer in the Rose Garden?

Actually, this transcends "private life." This guy went AWOL without
leaving anybody in charge. Even the Lieutenant Governor had no idea
how to handle matters, if there had been a major emergency in SC. To
make matters worse, the drafters of the SC constitution didn't foresee
such a bizarre happening and didn't allow for transition of power, if
the sitting governor just decides to take a hike away from the job.

What the hell was he doing in Argentina, anyway? Any why didn't
*anybody* (including his wife and family) know where he had gone? Why
did everybody feel compelled to make up some sort of BS story about
where he *really* was?

They guy has always been a bit eccentric, but I think he has finally
crossed the sanity line. He'll get a pass, of course, because he is
popular down there. Think about it, what would you say if Obama did
the same thing?

Because this guy isn't leader of the free world. He is a Governor who
takes off often and his voters don't seem to care. What is it to you
if his wife and others choose not to tell you where he was. He often
travels without security and goes home at night like any other
"working stiff"... *(Not a Lewinski comment)... He was probably not
using his positition to push young girls into his crotch...

I don't think we know *whom* he was with or *what* they were doing.
That is what the conversation is about....

Nevermind the fact that he charges the good state of South Carolina

He's stupid and a skank.

Do we know that for a fact?

He charged the state 21,000 for travel last year that included China,
somewhere else and, bingo, Argentina.

He was *NOT* on his time because he didn't punch the time clock and
leave in an orderly fashion, he left a headless government.

He was out screwing his Argentinean mistress (or master, who knows?)
while the 4.5M citizens of SC were left with nobody at the helm of
state government.

His sexual peccadilloes are between him and his wife. *His mistake was
abandoning his responsibilities as a public servant... even to the
