I once shook hands with a pudgy guy who:

Sailed from San Francisco to Hawaii.
Rounded Cape Horn, twice.
Transited the Panama Canal.
Has owned more than 20 boats in his lifetime.
Sailed large boats competitively.
Has been hundreds of miles from land in a powerboat
under his command.

And who set a new record for the most distance covered and fish caught in the Chesapeake Bay in the shortest time!

John, is that the guy who owns a 36' Zimmerman like lobster boat and
who's father made a trans Atlantic trip in a runabout only to come
home to a fireboat welcome in NYC?

No way. You mean...nah, couldn't be. Really? Wow - that's quite an
accomplishment.

I wonder - no, couldn't be him. The type of boast...er...boats that
guy drives aren't fast enough to do something like that.

Most of the fish were caught using the 'drift fishing' technique,
which allows for great distances (especially during hurricanes).

Maybe you could learn some of these techniques when you stop by the
ranch in MD?
