How can you claim to be interested in military events when, as a former Lt
Colonel in the US Army, you disrespect your current Commander in Chief?

His statement was a bit obtuse, but the ships he mentioned were all
damaged at Pearl Harbor, but were repaired and went on to fight in
WWII. Perhaps he's just hoping this ship will go on to fight in the
war on terror?

I believe it already has.

All those ships were at Pearl Harbor, and several were at the Japanese
surrender in Tokyo Bay.

Remember Scapa Flow where the German High Seas Fleet was scuttled after
WWI? I read something recently that I found interesting. Apparently,
because those ships were forged before the nuclear age, they don't
contain any radioactive isotopes. Some of the metal is now being
salvaged for use in space probes and other sensitive mechanisms. From
the Battle of Jutland, to deep space, who would have known?

Poorly worded on my part. The steel it was made from came back from
an attack and lives to fight back, which is the opportunity the
mentioned ships received.

If that's not it, maybe Gene will clarify.

buddy Harry Krause.

How can you claim to be interested in military events when, as a former
Lt
Colonel in the US Army, you disrespect your current Commander in Chief?

That post was about as stupid as a post could get.

Now I'm not saying you're stupid, Donnie, but....

I haven't changed my mind....you are a poor representative of a senior army

Coming from one who considers Krause, et al, above reproach, that's
quite a compliment.

Thanks.

There are parts for those two in the remake of Wizzard of Oz which will
be shot on location at Derby Kansas. Krause will be the Cowardly Lion
and Donny, of course, will be the Scarecrow without a brain.

Bingo! Those ships, sunk at Pearl Harbor, arose again and avenged the
attack on America by taking the battle back to the enemy. They won
dozens of battle stars and other awards for meritorious service. I
hope the same for the USS New York.

IMHO, they should all have been converted to museums (locally, like
the USS North Carolina), rather than be sold for scrap.

Apparently, John needs a primer on history.... and Loogy? We'll, he's

I am glad that's what you meant. On the surface, it sounded much like

Not a problem..... and if you do make the move to NC, you'll be
closer to the USS NC museum and hopefully it will be enhanced by the
addition of the USS Kitty Hawk. Charleston's Patriots Point is a good
show, too!

Well, now it looks as though we'll stay here for a couple more years.
I'm in the mood to move, but SWMBO is having second thoughts. Our next
door neighbor just moved back down there and bought a beautiful house
on an acre for half of what his sold for here. He's just north of Wake
Forest.

Donny boy. Weather or not you realize it, you are disrespecting Obama
by not refering to him as President Obama. But hey. what can you
expect from an out islander.

Out islander??
I've never lived on an island in my life.
BTW it's whether...not weather.

I doubt floridajim knows the difference between those two words. But he
is a close friend of Eisboch, and served his country doing really
important stuff in the navy during the war we lost to vietnam.

Have you figured out why Gene would make such a wish for a ship?

His statement was a bit obtuse, but the ships he mentioned were all
damaged at Pearl Harbor, but were repaired and went on to fight in
WWII. *Perhaps he's just hoping this ship will go on to fight in the

Hopefully.

I believe it already has.

Poorly worded on my part. The steel it was made from came back from
an attack and lives to fight back, which is the opportunity the
mentioned ships received.

If that's not it, maybe Gene will clarify.

Most probably that's what he meant. At least I hope so.
