Took daughter number two and three of her kids out for a day's playing
on the Potomac. The weather was great with just enough wind to let the boat bounce enough for the kids to enjoy. That little (18') Key West seems to handle wakes much better than the 21' Proline. Went to a boaters' beach in Belmont Bay, just outside Occoquan. Lots of boats, in the neighborhood of 100. The beach is now part of a state park, Mason Neck, and is patrolled by Park Rangers. The amount of drinking has gone way down, and there are no more fires allowed. But, the kids had a super time. Can't wait to go again. Here's an overhead of the little bay. The photo was most definitely taken in winter, 'cause there's not a boat to be seen. http://tinyurl.com/6jxlj9 -- John H "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." We were out all day yesterday as well... on the water by 9:30, put the boat back in the slip around 6:30. Finally took the skis out to the boat, and my wife and I both skied a couple of times. That 250 will yank a slalom right out of the water. |

And fighting a lingering cold like illness that is going around. |
