Best not to try this at high traffic hours...do it either very early in
the am or very late at night.

I have been getting 24k for more than ten years. Where is fast dialup.

Kind of reminds me of what happened back in the mid-70's - I want to
say '75/'76 - The Summer That Never Came.

Had to turn up the heat in my office this morning.

Clearly, 'ole Joe missed this one! 98 degrees in the shade, here.....

Come to north Florida. Temps hovering around 100 for a week. Supposed to go
only to 90's by Tuesday.

This really isn't a comment. * Just testing a new, DSL Internet
service from the music shop.

Is it really that cold up there. I'm working in the yard today and have
to come in every half hour or so, to cool off and rehydrate. It's hot
out.
It's cool and damp. *Need heat to take the chill off and it's the middle
of June.
Strange.

You picked a good year to not have a boat. Speaking about being boatless.
Did you get special dispensation from our keystone cops to post here sans
boat?
I am not boatless yet. * Still have the Mainship. * It's under agreement
again (following the discovery of the rotted oil pans). *Potential buyer
knows of the issue and Kingman is working on replacing them.
Buyer's surveyor has already gone over the rest of the boat and it looks
ok other than needing a good cleaning.

They are supposed to launch it next week and the sea trial will follow
shortly thereafter.
If all goes well, **then* *I will be officially boatless and will submit
my formal resignation from rec.boats.

A man of honour!
That would make you an oddity in here on the best days. *;-)

That's honor man,honor.

For you that would be true. However the word in question is spelled
"honour" where we come from.

It worked.

Not only does it work, but I am really surprised and impressed. * It's
only been up and running for an hour or so, but it is amazingly fast for
DSL. * I thought DSL was slower than cable, but it's not the case here. *
This DSL is much faster than the Comcast cable we have in the house.

It could be that although the DSL is on a wireless router, I only have
one computer on it versus 2 or 3 on the wireless Comcast router in the
house. But the difference is very, very noticeable. *Hope it stays this
way.

Eisboch

When you speed test the new DSL, what results in kbps do you get?

Try a couple of servers at * *http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

at different times during the day at your house and office.

Typically, we get about 25,000 kbps down and 11,000 up. Sometimes

Well, I'm sure they set you up with the super duper DSL because you
are so special.

Of course Herr Krause is special. He must have the finest and latest
electronic equipment to have a direct tie to the White House.
