Trouble is, no one knows until the clock runs out, and then no one can
come back and say whether it's all true, or just a story. Only then do
you find out if your ticket is valid or not. And then you either get

You are entitled to have "faith" that there is some sort of life after
*this* life, but, as you state, there isn't a scintilla of proof of it.
Nothing, nada.

But it is a common enough belief. Afterlife was important to the ancient
Egyptians, and to most religions that followed. It surely has offered
some comfort to the masses over the centuries, most of whom had a pretty
mean existence. Many religions have done very well for themselve by
pushing the belief there is an afterlife and they control the doors to
the entrance.

Religion was started by man as a way to try to explain the mysteries that
confronted him. I'm not sure much in human nature has changed since the
Egyptians.

And there is no proof that something terrible isn't waiting for you in the
afterlife. Of course this life is no picnic for you, Krause. Your decision
to dodge the draft must be eating away at your insides even to this day.
Maybe things will get better for you when you die. That will give you
something to pray for.

You know, I've never seen the Statue of Liberty. I think it is just a hoax.
Something someone came up with in their spare time. I have not seen it, or
been there, therefore, it CANNOT exist because anything that is not
profoundly proven to my ultimate intelligence is garbage. Which includes
almost every thought and deed and discussion in the world or Usenet. I have
a nice time living in this little fishbowl, looking in the mirror when I
want inspiration or reassurance, being king of the universe. I mean, if
there WERE a God, he would have checked with me first before doing anything.
Right?

Humility is overrated.

Steve ;-)

How very charming. *Old fart believes in fairy tales.
How very intolerant to disrespect a popularly held belief. Why are you
so intolerant of the majority on so many issues? Do you really think
you are smarter than the rest of the country?
Yeah, it was very intolerant of those of us who supported the Voting
Rights Act of 1964 to "disrespect" the beliefs of the white trash who
opposed it.

I would have more respect for "religion" if its "believers" didn't work
so hard to try to force it down our society's throats.

Don't be such an idiot.. Everyone here remembers your ring around the
rosie last year when you tried to avoid telling us how it is "shoved
down your throat". You couldn't answer the question then, you can't
now... So that is just another Huskie Mower... snerk

Anyone rational can come up with at least a handful of ways in which
"the religious" try to shove their beliefs down our throats. Here are a few.

1. Terry Schiavo

2. Anti-abortion

3. Public funds going to churches

4. Sunday "no sales" laws

5. Curtailed stem cell research

6. Pushing the teaching of "creationism" in public schools

There you go, **** for brains...right-wing religious throat shoving.

What are you crying about, you got to kill Terri Schiavo, abortion,
stemcells and others, but that is not enough for you. You are against
free speech and democracy... Oh, and compromise too. I am guessing
your mom and dad were closely related... WAFA...

Isn't that the act opposed by so many Democrats (aka white trash) in the
south? The one that would not have passed except for the support of
Republicans? *Could that be the one? Who can forget the Dixiecrats?

Roles have reversed since then. *Perhaps you have noticed?

More recently in history, civil rights legislation was championed and
signed into law by Democrats.

The R's are now dominated by the wealthy and the white trash that does
their bidding.- Hide quoted text -

Of course that last statement is a lie.. What else should we expect. I
actually heard a democrat being interviewed last night and she was
called on a fact. When asked how she knew what she said was true
several times, and dancing around the answer, she said "because so
many people have said it".. Refering to the Main Stream Media and the
left wing blogs.. It was frekin' hilarious, I wish I had it on
DVD...

Therein you have evidence of logic, or lack thereof.

By traveling to New York, you can see the statue in living color and
go touch it.

Please tell me the same about the "afterlife."

Krause isn't 100% anti Christian. He, like BHO, follows the teachings of
the reverand Jeramiah Wright, who is supposedly operating a Christian
church, Where he is frequently heard saying "God damn America".

BTW It's not religious beliefs stuck in Krauses throat. Its Dick Cheeny
, or is it Cheeny's dick.
