I had a guy come up from the south on vacation years ago and he stopped by my shop as part of his trip. He had brought his first boat up on a trailer to show me. It was a smaller version of this type of hull, I forget the name off hand but it was a Bolger something. Could be it was a good tool for his use but I must admit, it was about the silliest thing I had ever seen in my mind... Lately I have been drawing and studying more Gardner hulls, but sometimes a box is just the right tool for the job. RIP Phil, sorry I never met you. Harry will be here in a minute to tell you about all of the classic boat builders that he and his dad used to know, have over for dinner, etc. Then of course comes the part where he, and no one else but he, knows all there is to know about boat building. |
