There were several Bolger-designed sailboats in Milford harbor when I was growing up in that area, including a couple of "sharpies." I wonder if any of those beautiful old wood sailboats are still floating... We had an L16, a beautiful molded ply sailboat designed and built by Bill Luders in Stamford. Luders designed the American Eagle, an America's Cup contender in the mid 1960's that Ted Turner raced successfully around the world. I'll bet Luders and Bolger knew each other.. BWAAAHAAAA!!! I knew it.......... |
