Then why did you comment beyond that? I tried to keep politics out of this.
Didn't
you see the first 2 words of the title of the post?

I didn't get into politics. I said that the disaster of 9-11 continues as both
the terrorists and repressive reactionaries strive to use public fear and
insecurity to advance their causes. Absolutely true.

If I had said, "The Bush administration................." or
"Republicans......" or "Democrats......."
that would be political.

As someone said earlier, unfrickenbelievable.

You are truly pathetic. How dare you insinuate such a thing.

Step 1: Check posting history

Step 2: Assume that past tendencies are a decent clue to understanding the
present and forecasting the future.

No much of a dare, if I do say.

Shame on you Chuck.

Shame on me for even participating in your
little troll. Shame on maybe a few others who believe that one side of the
political spectrum or the other holds a copyright on
patriotism and mourning the losses of 9-11 (corporeal, physical, financial,
psychological, philosophical, and all). Should you run into such a person, tell
them "Shame on you, too." They damn well deserve it.

Chuck,
How you assumed anything from his post beyond what he said is beyond me.
His post was:
Where were you when it happened?

For me, I was on my way to physical therapy for my knee listening to the
radio in the car....a date and time I will never forget.

It sounds like you need a break from rec.boats. They have pushed you over
the edge.

You cannot drop the politics for even one day when we remember and honor the dead from
9-11 tragedy. You foolishly and sadly question my intentions when I post a tribute to
those dead.

As I said before, you are truly pathetic and driven only by your political hatreds.
You and Harry deserve each other.

Get help Chuck. Perhaps a group discount with you and Harry is in order.

You bet.

I lost a few people I knew that day, had a ring side seat for the
whole affair, and I still happen to believe that the bill of rights
suffered as least as much damage. It's interesting to me that folks
are willing to take constitutional rights so lightly in the name of
patriotism. It was, after all, one of the things that the
revolutionary war was fought over, and what could be more patriotic
than that?

Between upsetting our western freedoms and screwing with our economy, one
could assume AQ has been pretty damn successful at their objective to cause
the US to crumble.

The economic effects were unavoidable, sacraficing our constitutional rights
was and is optional. Hopefully, the country is starting to regain its
senses and realizing we needn't become a police state in reaction to being
attacked.

You aren't even man enough to admit to your shamelessness and instead of
apologizing, you just keep at it.

What the hell has happened to you?

I have not behaved shamelessly.

Wally, if you are a terrorist or a repressive reactionary I specifically
accused you of trying to advance your agenda with the 9-11 tragedy.

Know something? If you *are* a terrorist or a repressive reactionary and my
post upset you, I'm glad. If you aren't, you had no reason to take offense.

So, in either case no apology is in order.

What has happened to me? Nothing. Sometimes you misinterpret things. This is
one of those times- unless you are a terrorist or a repressive reactionary.

I certainly don't stereotype you. Why would I?

Your words speak quite clearly and easily reveal your agenda.

Then you wouldn't have to sleuth some secret meaning out of "enough stuff",
would you?

Not really, if you read enough of his stuff, he reveals his agenda.

Then again given the "Politics aside" nature of this post...why not make

it
9-11-01 and OKC? Throw in a few more if you like. The level of the
spectacle and the gross death toll are of little relevance to someone who
lost a love one.

Jim

Hey Jim,

Did Dennis give you permission to post as Jim?

You know, since Dennis decided to adopt the screen name Jim, others have
been too. And, even though those folk's names are really Jim, it makes
Dennis very uncomfortable. He assumes people are following him around and
misusing his identity. Evidently, he didn't calculate in advance that he
may be choosing a name that was currently in use.

Just thought you'd appreciate a heads up, just in case he freaks on you.

I was meerely hoping that the trolls would leave patriotism and
politics out of this particular thread. And the one who starts it is
calling everyone else a troll... It is obvious that Gould just can't
help himself, pretty sad if you ask me...
